Questions & answers

Canvas looks like a painting and hangs without a frame. An art print is the most affordable way to get a large portrait. Add a frame to either and it arrives ready to hang. Digital is a high-res file for your phone, social media or your own printing.

What is a modern custom pet portrait?

A modern custom pet portrait is a one-of-a-kind modern pet portrait made from a photo of your own pet. You upload a picture, we paint your pet's face, markings and colors into the artwork, and you see a free preview before you pay. Then it's made to order and shipped to you.

How to choose the right size for your modern pet portrait

Use the room view on this page to see each size on a wall next to a sofa. Here is a quick rule of thumb.

8" × 10" and 12" × 16"

Desks, shelves, nightstands and gallery walls. A good size for a gift.

16" × 20" and 18" × 24"

Our most popular choice. Hangs well above a sideboard, a bed or a small sofa.

24" × 36"

A statement piece for above a fireplace or a full-size sofa.

Digital download

A high-res file for your phone, social media or printing at home. It's delivered by email and you get no physical item.

Which photo works best?

The artwork can only be as good as the photo, so a minute spent choosing one helps a lot.

Good photos

Your pet fills most of the frame, the camera is at their eye level, the light is daylight, and both eyes and ears are sharp. Phone photos are perfect.

Photos to skip

Blurry action shots, dark indoor photos, heavy filters, pets far away or half hidden behind a person or a toy.

More than one pet

Upload a separate photo of each pet. We paint them together in one picture, at $15 for each extra pet.
