“Superhero” Custom Pet Portrait

Cape flowing, city skyline — your everyday hero.

To you, your pet is already a hero. A superhero pet portrait makes it official: a flowing red cape, a gold star on the chest and a city skyline glowing at sunset behind them, drawn in bold comic-book style.

It's bright, energetic and impossible not to smile at, and it's a lovely way to celebrate a pet who has truly been there for you.

What a superhero pet portrait looks like

Superhero takes its feel from classic comic-book covers: strong outlines, dramatic lighting and a heroic pose against the city. The costume is our own design, a red cape and a simple gold star emblem with no letters or logos, so your pet isn't dressed as any existing character. They're their own hero.

As always, your pet's real face, markings and colors come straight from your photo. The sunset sky fills the scene with warm oranges and purples, and the red cape sweeps across the frame, so the portrait has a sense of motion that our classical styles don't. It reads clearly from across a room and looks just as good small on a mug.

Everyday heroes this style is made for

Superhero is perfect for rescue dogs, therapy and service animals, and the pet who got you through a hard year. It also suits athletic, high-energy breeds like Pit Bulls, Boxers, Labs and Malinois, and fearless little dogs who think they are ten feet tall. Cats who stalk the hallway at 3 a.m. qualify too.

  • Rescue pets with a comeback story
  • Therapy, service and emotional support animals
  • The dog who protects the kids from the mail carrier
  • The cat who rescued you, not the other way around

Photo tips for a heroic pose

A confident, alert expression looks best: ears up, eyes bright, chest forward. Shoot outdoors in daylight from slightly below your pet's eye level for a heroic angle. Keep the chest visible for the star emblem and avoid photos where your pet is lying on their side.

Action shots can work, but only if the face is sharp. A dog mid-leap with a blurry nose won't translate well; the same dog sitting proudly after the game will. If you're photographing a cat, wait for a moment when they're alert and watching something, like a bird at the window, for that focused, ready-to-save-the-day look.

Best products for a superhero

Superhero is available as wall art through the Character Pet Portrait (digital $29.99, art prints from $39.99, canvas from $89.99, sizes 8×10 to 24×36 inches) and on lots of everyday items. Kids love it on a youth t-shirt, and it's a hit on socks, hoodies and tumblers.

In a playroom, game room or kid's bedroom, a canvas without a frame keeps the look bold and modern.
